Hydrogen Car Kit Questions

Do you have to modify your engine when fitting a hydrogen conversion kit? This is one of several questions asked about hydrogen car kits.

The answer is no no modifications are involved to your engine whatsoever. All modifications are done in the fuel delivery and in the on board computer.

Because the system uses water to extract the hydrogen from, some people ask if it will rust the engine. The answer is no more than it does with normal fuel.

Additionally you need not worry about your engine rusting or locking up from having water vapor flowing through it. You have water running through your engine now, in the cooling system and in your exhaust from burning gasoline and natural condensation.

The makers do suggest a stainless steel exhaust to work with the system. Most newer vehicles already have them and if not they are available at most muffler shops. They are made from stainless steel because exhaust systems do rust out from water in your normal exhaust.

Is hydrogen safe to use as a fuel? is another common query.

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, rarely found by itself but rather bound with other elements like oxygen, in this case, making it water. Hydrogen is the H2 (two parts hydrogen) in H2O ('O' being one part oxygen).

Hydrogen, the lightest element we know,15 times lighter than air, disperses quickly. It is only when hydrogen is stored in large quantities or with an oxidizer, that it becomes dangerous.

Hydrogen is also less flammable than gasoline. Gasoline can burst into flames at 442 degrees Fahrenheit but hydrogen won't ignite until 1,022 degrees Fahrenheit.

Your vehicle is more likely to burst into flames from gasoline fumes than it is from hydrogen fumes because gasoline fumes are heavy and gather on the ground. That's why, if you have a hot water heater in your garage, most building codes require it to be installed two feet or more above the floor (a natural gas hot water tank's pilot light will ignite gasoline fumes from your car) whereas hydrogen floats straight up.

The conversion kit produces hydrogen to the vehicle on demand, not for storage but forsafe use as it is needed by the engine.
The result is enormous fuel savings, increased power and efficiency, a cleaner engine and a cleaner environment.
